Mayan Encounter

Duration: 12 hour(s) - Location: Coba and Mayan Village

You will be able to explore a lagoon having the local guides paddling canoes and pointing out the beautiful birds and flowers of this unspoiled environment. Afterwards, you will be able to yell meanwhile you ride a zip lien across the caiman lagoon feeling the air and freedom in your body.

From Pac Chen, a 15-minute hike along a jungle path takes you to a marvelous Balam Kin Cenote. Cenotes have always been sacred to the Maya, both for religious reasons and as a source of clean drinking water.

Using rappelling equipment, you will slowly low yourself 45 feet into the cool clear water where some inner tubes will wait for you to float. From the bottom you will be able to see beautiful formations of stalactites and stalagmites and strands of tree roots hanging down, making their way to the water through the limestone surface. After you swim, the guides will pull you back up to the surface or you can climb the rope ladder. They can also smoothly low you down if you prefer not to rappel on your own.

As a guest of Pac Chen, you will enjoy a tour of the village and a typical rural Mayan home. A savory and filling lunch is homemade out of local ingredients.
