Chichén Itzá in Mayan means "The City of the Water Magicians". During the XI-XI century, with the decadence of the Mayan civilization, this is the only city that still gives examples of sculpture and architecture. The importance of this center is due to the presence of two large cenotes (water wells) with a distance of less than one kilometer between them.
The Castle and the Temple of Jaguar: This is the largest and highest building of Chichén Itzá, reaching 30m height. It has four stairs, one on each side, each with 91 steps totaling 364, adding the one-step of the temple's total 365 steps equivalent to the number of days in the solar year. This is why we think it was built in honor of the Sun god.
